Want To Hit Your Driver Further?

By GolFrenzy

So you want to hit the driver further eh? There are some simple things you can do to pick up extra yards with the big headed club and your irons as well. With two easy to use devices you can learn to hit that little white ball longer and straighter! By using what the fitness industry call resistance bands and what the golf industry calls an impact bag…you will be out hitting most of your foursome.

Resistance Bands

This easy to use and store fitness product will help you achieve flexibility and strength at the same time! By using them effectively and doing the proper exercise to help you build up those golf muscles. The results won’t take long to show on the course. There are many options of resistance band sets out there and you will need one that has a door holder option if you plan on doing these at home as opposed to a gym where you can easily attach them to a piece of equipment. You need to have the band high enough so you can make a simulated downswing.  Amazon.com has lots of options for a great price and that is where I got this set. The first set works well with exercises shown in the video below. The other set is a good all around set to have and you can adapt the second set to the video as well.

Golf Impact Bags

Now that you have learned how to strengthen your downswing. One of the benefits of getting stronger with the downswing is that you will now be able to better control the clubface. You should be able to deliver the club without coming over the top. But the other side of getting the club coming from the inside is that you now will have to make sure to “square up” that clubface so you don’t go shanking! The impact bag will allow you to feel what it like to have a squared up club at impact. With the right bag you should also be able to see which way the face is at impact open (toe to the right) or closed (toe pointed left). Again I like the option of portability so I opted for the Dr Gary Wiren model shown.

Practice hitting into this on a regular basis ( 1-3 times a week if possible) and watch that score drop along with the adding benefit of hitting it further due to solid contact. The Impact Bag immediately gives you the feedback as to the clubface position at the critical moment of impact. Impact Bag will cushion the blow of your shot thus producing the correct feel of a square clubface position at impact. Using the instructions in the video below to help you develop your own practice routine.
